I feel like I got NOTHING done today. I know I was busy and not a home for a good bit but I feel totally blllllaaaaahhhhhhhhh. I don't know if it is the damn heat outside. Maybe it is all of the things that need to be done around that house that are staring at me going "Me next, Me next!!!" I have put them all off.
We did have the a/c repaired it turned out not to be a major part. I am just adding it to the list of things that we discover every day about this house. We know that it has had a prior life but it is a great mystery as to how it lived before. And who lived here for that matter. Shortly after we moved in, we learned that the house was hit by lighting. I know, right? That explains us having to replace the whole garage door opener. All of the magnets on the upstairs windows were dead and the alarm system would not work until they were all replaced. A light on the outside of the garage had what we thought to be a bad bulb. Chad changed the bulb and it caught on FIRE. WTH! Replaced it. The little attic in the garage leaks when it rains. The kitchen window is worthless when it rains. (not like we have had any) Totally floods the bay window.
Okay house, how many more little secrets do you have? It is time to get it all out in the open.
By the way, let me know if you ever need an a/c guy. Very good and very reasonable.

I found this site and had to share
I found this site today and wanted to share. It will be on my daily internet rounds along with all of your blogs.
It is called Simply Dumb. It is commentary about news stories and how dumb that they are that these "stories" have made news. I feel like he is taking the words out of my mouth. Yes, I am a little cynical about "news" lately.
And if you are wondering why I have so many post today, it is just too damn hot to do anything else. The a/c unit in the down stairs is low on freon (or so I hope) and the guy is coming by this evening. It is just too hot to do anything in the house but sit in front of my computer.

The music that these kids listen to
Some of it really gets on my nerves. Along with their shows. I can not stand Wow, Wow Wubbzy. How ever you spell it. But the absoulte worst is, well there are two, Lazy Town and Yo Gabba Gabba. I am sorry but it is like there is a bad acid trip on the TV. And how in the world is it good for the kids. Reece loves the songs. And they just grate on my nerves. The is something very wrong with a grown man dancing around with some big foam creature that are a close relative of Gumby.

Now, I do like the Laurie Berkner Band. It isn't too annoying. They are catchy tunes sang by an adult in an adult voice. Who knew that kids could be entertained by adult not acting like a kid. Who gets on your nerves?

Laughing is not the answer
Reece has said some pretty funny things lately. Here are just a few examples.
She is always trying to put Addison in time out. I have to tell Reece to let me be the mom and she needs to be the sister. So this was after one of those discussions.
Me - Reece, do you want to be a mommy when you grow up.
Reece - No, I want to be an Aunt Sabrina.
This was Saturday in the car waiting on Chad to come out of a store. It was early evening, We were all tired from the day.
Reece: Mom, you need to move that mirror.
Me: What mirror?
Reece: That little one (I have one that hangs off of the rear view mirror so that I can see both of the girls in the back seat)
Me: Why?
Reece: So that you can't see me suck my thumb...

Let Check the score: Reece 1 Mom 0
Let's just say that getting Reece to wear her glasses over the last month or more has been an hourly struggle. Not daily but hourly. She is constantly complaining. What 4 year old wouldn't? But it hasn't been headaches or eye pain. It has been ears and nose. So finally we asked her if she got the pink glasses, would she wear them all the time. She said yes. I said okay. I let it go a couple of days, and she continued to bring it up.
So Saturday we went back to the eye glass shop. God intervened and had the retail sales manager work with us. We are way past the 30-day exchange policy. I told him what was going on and that we had been in several times for adjustments. Then my sweet Reece walked right over to the kid section. Did not see her pink glasses. She started opening some drawers and found them. "Here they are! See Mom, I told you." She put them right on her face. Smiled big. How could we say no. The guy worked us an AWESOME deal. So everyone, take a look at our new $5 glasses. And yes, she wears then 200 times more than the last pair. And they are bigger than the last pair. Maybe she was complaining for a reason. Score 1 for Reece.

Low Maintence here
My daughters have proved to me that they are not high maintenance by any means. Don't get me wrong, they do enjoy there dresses but they could come from Wal-mart. The girls do not mind. But as far as entertainment, they are very easy.
We bought a small pool to take to the lake and it now resides in our back yard. Chad has pulled a chair next to the pool so that he could sit with them. Reece made the chair into a slide into the pool. We eventually moved the outdoor play piece to the edge of the pool and used it's slide as a pool slide. You will see it in the back of the picture.
They slept great this night.
Sunday we had lunch at Layne and Mitzi's house. I brought along some toys that could be left there so that the girls will always have something to play with. So you know that I took the 100 piece foam block set. I am so tired of picking up those all over the house. I know we have never played with them down stairs but I know there are at least 20 down there. Anyway, one child sat in the bucket that the blocks made there journey in and we instantly had an indoor sled. Same day, Chad and Layne were working on the sprinkler system. Addison was not outside 2 minutes before she decided that the sprinklers were her very own splash pad. She went in full clothed but came out naked. Reece did not want to get her dress or panties wet so she opted for one of Mitzi's tank tops. While Chad and I ran out for a little bit, the "adults" added real water hoses and spray attachments to finish out big.
